Never apply stickers to a freshly oiled bat. If you just oiled it, wait at least 24–48 hours for the oil to fully soak in and dry, otherwise the adhesive will slide right off.

1. Preparation (The Most Important Part)
You can’t stick something new onto old residue or dust. It just won’t stay.

Remove old stickers: Use a hairdryer on a low heat setting to warm up the adhesive. Gently peel them back.

Clean the surface: Use a tiny bit of eucalyptus oil or “Goo Gone” to remove sticky residue.

Sand lightly (Optional): If the wood is rough, a very light rub with fine-grit sandpaper (400 grit+) makes a smoother surface.

Wipe down: Use a lint-free cloth and a drop of surgical spirit (rubbing alcohol) to ensure the wood is bone-dry and oil-free.

2. The Application Process

Do not peel the entire backing off at once. This is the fastest way to ruin a sticker.

Dry Fit: Before peeling, hold the sticker against the bat to find the perfect alignment. Use a pencil to make tiny guide marks on the wood if needed.

The “Slow Peel”: Peel back about an inch of the backing from the top.

Align and Press: Press the top edge down firmly.

The Squeegee Method: Using a credit card or a soft cloth, slowly press the sticker down from the center outwards while peeling the rest of the backing away. This pushes the air out to the sides.
